Ocean swell becomes cosmic
Bubbles glimmer in moonbeams
The world of Berceau is ever-changing, often more rapidly than the beings who call it home can adapt to. The cosmic sea, a tumultuous plain of water and starlight that cradles the small world, is the birthplace wherein such change began.
Change can feel sharp and painful, but I wanted to portray it as graceful, sinuous, and soft here. As is the case with many of the cosmic bodies in this collection, the full moon holds meaning here. A representation of the energy we retain when we don’t resist the natural changes present within our lives. I painted a being who flows with the spiral of time. An earthly creature becoming cosmic, yet not hardened in the state of her change.
This piece was using my own handmade watercolors.
