I met with a fox inside a ghost dream
In dark haunted places wherein eyes glint and gleam.
He warned me of masks, and spirits saturnine
As he led me through mushrooms, and neon divine.
If you ever meet a fox within a ghost dream, he will likely warn you of blinding lights, of masks and false pretenses, of the weight of living an eternity under a white sheet of expectation. Listen to him. And when you wake, dear one, wear your colours for all the world.
This piece invites us to abandon our worry about societal judgements and live without the glamor we so often feel we must don in order to meet the expectations of some omnipresent judge. My hopes are that this piece reminds us to live as the ghost who casts away the traditional white sheet, allowing the colour of their soul to radiate for all the world.
